Road Trip Part 7 – Lighthouse Trail

Day 8 – Driving down the coast of Maine, Boston-bound, we stopped at several lighthouses.  This first one is my favorite. Marshall Point Lighthouse.

We found out while we were there it was actually the lighthouse that Forrest Gump ran to in the movie.

So after this stop, we continued down the coast and stopped at a VERY famous (1-hour line wait) roadside stand called Red’s Eats.  They put more than one whole lobster on each of their lobster rolls and they only take cash…so you know it’s good. 🙂

Here’s the Portland Head Light.

I didn’t get any pictures, but that night we stayed in Portsmouth, NH.  What a neat city with such an old downtown feel! Would have loved to spend more time here, but we needed to get to our last stop…
