Day 5 – After leaving Lancaster, NH we made our way further east on Hwy. 2. Along this road in Jefferson, NH is a restaurant not to be missed…the Water Wheel Restaurant. I mean, these pancakes are bigger than your face! The pure maple syrup is awesome too. Thanks, Grandma, for the recommendation!
So, our next stop on our trek was Acadia National Park in Maine. We camped near the park at Smuggler’s Den Campground. Little B enjoyed this campground quite a bit because there was a playground that he could play at right across from the campsite. I think he could have played there all day if we would have let him.
After we arrived and got settled into the campground, we decided to go explore Mount Desert Island (the big island where most of Acadia Nat’l Park is located) by car. We drove over to Bar Harbor for some ice cream, stopped to get a few pics of the coast, and visited the Bass Harbor lighthouse…our first official siting of a Maine lighthouse.
